Role Overview

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our growing team in support of our federal program.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to impactful, mission-critical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level engineering support for airport pavement research and development activities.
  • Analyze laboratory and field pavement testing data to evaluate material performance and engineering characteristics.
  • Perform engineering evaluations supporting airport pavement design, construction acceptance, and pavement performance research.
  • Develop technical recommendations based on engineering analyses and research findings.
  • Support development and refinement of pavement testing methods, specifications, Engineering Briefs, and Advisory Circulars.
  • Review laboratory data and technical documentation for engineering accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering memoranda, presentations, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in special research projects involving airport pavement materials and testing methodologies.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel, technical staff, and Subject Matter Experts to resolve engineering issues.
  • Present technical findings during project meetings, briefings, and professional conferences.
  • Provide support and expertise in the assigned domain.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
  • Special projects as needed.

Required Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of airport pavement engineering principles and pavement materials.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting laboratory and field-testing data.
  • Knowledge of airport pavement standards, ASTM, and AASHTO specifications.
  • Experience developing technical recommendations and engineering reports.
  • Ability to review engineering documentation for technical accuracy.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multidisciplinary research teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible civil or pavement engineering experience.
  • Experience in pavement engineering, construction materials, transportation infrastructure, or airport engineering.
  • Experience interpreting laboratory testing results and engineering performance data.
  • Experience preparing engineering reports and technical documentation.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced, client-focused environments.
  • Experience supporting federal programs preferred.


Education

  • Position requires BS/BA degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University with 15 years of experience OR a MS/MA degree in Civil Engineering with 3 years of experience.

Work Location and Schedule

  • Hybrid/Virginia/New Jersey
  • Monday – Friday 8AM – 5:30PM EST
  • Work schedules and arrangements may be adjusted based on client and program needs

Compensation

  • The likely salary range or Hourly rate for this position is $100,000–$135,000.

Salary range reflects our commitment to pay equity and transparency. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, certifications, labor qualifications, geographic location and contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
